So, after all, I was called for the taping of an episode of 1 vs. 100. If I remember correctly, it was around September when I took the screening and passed. We waited months for a call, but we received none. Saturdays after the screening day, we only saw 1 vs. 100 Kids airing on TV, so I thought I won't ever be called. I thought we should just forget about it. Then just yesterday, I received a text message. It told me that I am invited to play for the January 5 taping of 1 vs. 100. The assembly time is at 1 PM at the ABS-CBN audience entrance. I was like, "SERIOUSLY!?" Nagising ako sa pagkakatulog ko nu'n. Then earlier today, gumayak ako to go to ABS-CBN. It was about time that I was called, for crying out loud! XD So inside, the marshal escorted us to Studio 4, where our identities will be confirmed through finger scanning. There I reunited with fellow examinees (yung mga nakasabay ko sa screening). But since matagal bago kami nagsimulang mag-finger scan, nagdrowing muna ako. And we were given free food! So after we ate our lunch at the cafeteria, we went back to Studio 4 as instructed so we could get our numbers for the seating arrangement. I was number 72. We went straight to Studio 2 afterwards. Inside Studio 2, we, the mob, assembled. I was surprised to know that not all of us are texters; there are also casted contestants. Among the casted ones are the balot vendors, teachers, two PhDs, 26K members (yep, yung nasa Deal or No Deal), and 29 Unbeatables. We first tested the keypads which we will use throughout the whole taping. It went well, so we proceeded to do the sampling of the game. Then enter "the Chairman": the host, Edu Manzano. Then the real thing began. All one hundred of us were pitted against "the One", Derek Ramsay. Angelica Panganiban was with him, pero sa side lang siya. What's new with this game is that, in order for "the One" to be able to take the money he collects, he must first eliminate ten mob members he handpicked before the start of the questions. Here were the questions, asked in order, and in rough text: After that first question, 98 of us were left. After the second, only 46 remained! And the question was: 2) Sa standard traffic lights, alin ang pinakamababang ilaw? A. Red B. Yellow C. Green
I can't help but think why most of us would make a mistake answering this question? In my opinion, misleading din kasi ang salitang "pinakamababa". Anyway, the third question was: 42 of us remained, but the fourth was the lethal one. That one really got me guessing. Eto kasi yung pang-apat na tanong: "Kung si Darna ay The Star for all Seasons, sino naman si Super Gee?" A. Megastar B. SuperstarC. Diamond Star Of course, I know the Star for All Seasons, the Megastar, the Superstar, and the Diamond Star...
<rant>...But just who the f*ck is Super Gee!?</rant>
So 23 remained, and I just enjoyed the rest of the taping. Anyway, sa fifth question nahirapan si Derek, so much that he needed two use two of his help. Hehehe Derek answered A, but we had a commercial break before the answer was revealed. Eto yung makulit: nag-"antanda" si Derek off-air! (LOL) 17 remained in the game. Anyway, the sixth question was a give-away: 6) Noong 2007, sinong pop star ang bigla na lang nagpakalbo? A. Christina Aguilera B. Madonna C. Britney SpearsObviously, they got it all right. Unfair, hindi ba? Diba dapat mas later pa tinanong yung tungkol kay Super Gee kung sakali? Then the final question for the taping. Final, kasi Derek got this wrong. 7) Sa siopao, aling flavor ang may red dot sa ibabaw?
A. Bola-bola
B. Asado
C. Chicken
Out of the remaining 17 mob members, 11 got it wrong. Hindi rin na-eliminate ang lahat sa sampung pinili ni Derek. So, led by Chairman, sabi namin, "Derek, you go home with...NOTHING!" Sabay hiyawan kami. (LOL) (Heck, even If I got the fourth question right, sasablay rin ako sa tanong n a 'to. Hindi rin ako sigurado sa siopao question e.) We all had fun, it was an enjoyable experience. Heck, we were even able to take picture inside the studio. Not to mention pictures with the 26K's Charmell, Olive and Ferlyn! XD Sayang, Chairman left immediately after the taping. Anyway, I was also able to take a picture with Derek and Angel sa dressing room nila. Hehehe, ang lakas ng loob. (LOL) So that's what happened to me today. I never thought I would be really setting foot inside the 1 vs. 100 studio and play as a member of the mob. Yes, I lost, but the whole experience was really worth it. I think magte-text ako ulit, and that next time, I won't miss in taking pictures! Hehehe The airing of that episode is probably next Saturday. Watch out for it if you want. Hindi naman ako sure kung makikita ako dito e. Pero watch it just for fun. XD
