So last weekend we went to Zambales for our fieldwork in Geol50. Kaming mga EM students lang ang nagpunta along with Sir Emoy, Kuya Archie and the drivers, pero sumama din si Ann na Geol student dahil di yata siya sasama sa Geol fieldwork sa Baguio. Initially, Ella and Christian were not with us dahil may exam pa sila, so humabol na lang sila. But I'll talk more about it later.
Anyway, I'm here to rave
about that experience. Our first stop was at Jollibee NLEX-Meycauayan: there we had our "heavy" breakfast so we would have
energy to spend later that day. Then some time while we're eating, I couldn't help but think the branch manager was our neighbor, Ate Jossa. At hindi nga ako nagkamali! So kumustahan mode kami, tapos nakalibre pa'ko ng GO Large pineapple juice at French fries.
Then we stopped by at a lahar deposit on the way to Pampanga. There we had a short discussion about it. Ako naman, kumuha ng mga pics. We also stopped by the bridge where a volcanic neck is viewable.
When we arrived at Zambales, we also stopped by areas where we can find pillow basalts, diabase, and other rock structures. We even collected samples along the way; ayun nga lang, hindi namin naisip yun nung nasa lahar kami sa Pampanga.

At the end of the day, we lodged in at
Jhumar's great grandmother's place. May naglabas ng baraha, so nagkaroon ng mini-casino. I heard si Regie ang llamado sa mga winnings. Then nang ilabas ang mga pagkain for dinner, I tell you, it was a damn feast! Inuman to the max ang buong tropa. Potek, grabe sila malasing! Compared to me who am yet to discover my drinking limits. Hahaha
Nakatulog na'ko at around 1 or 2 AM. After all, ayun na ang "normal" sleeping timeslot ko kahit sa bahay. But before that, nag-usapang estudyante muna kami ni Christian G. (kasi may Christian R.) hanggang bumulagta sa antok.
The next morning, it was time to leave the house. Medyo melodramatic ang eksena para sa lola (sa tuhod) ni Jhumar; kasi raw, it's been so long since she had visitors, so long since she heard raucous crowd noises ringing her house.
Then it was beach time! Since we already completed the itinerary for Sunday the day prior to that, 'yung Capones na lang ang pupuntahan namin. And we did; we hired a boat to Caponesboy was the island beautiful! Even better than Boracay, I tell you (kahit ever since hindi pa'ko nagpunta'ng Boracay. Ang lalakas ng mga alon! Compare it to those waves in Dagupan, walang binatbat ang mga alon du'n sa Capones! There we resumed some discussion and notes about sedimentary structures, and collected beach deposits. (Not to mention shedding of some skin! LOL)

Then we went home. It was a grueling 4-hour trip, with road idiots, obstacles and urine breaks encountered along the way, but we managed to get back safely. Somehow we were blessed to be able to go on a trip like that.
God bless the miners!
